21 February 2017

This week, we’re going all Mama-tastic! We will be joined by Molly from Mamas Collective, who will be telling us all about the group she founded and now runs. Based in Manchester City Centre, Mamas Collective runs a variety of events and workshops. These cover topics from how to start your own business to chatty social meet-ups, as well as pamper sessions.

Mamas Collective sessions often involve an exciting speaker, and their next event, on 1 March, promises to live up to expectations. The Unmumsy Mum, AKA Sarah Turner, will be addressing the meet-up. The event is unfortunately now sold out, but we will be speaking to The Unmumsy Mum on the show, so you don’t have to miss out entirely!

If you want to read more from The Unmumsy Mum, you can read her books, The Unmumsy Mum and The Unmumsy Mum Diary.

Meanwhile, we recently paid a visit to Emmeline’s Pantry, a Manchester-based charity, which provides food, clothing, pushchairs and new children’s toys – all to women in need. Of course, in Manchester, we are very proud to live in the birthplace of Emmeline Pankhurst, and it’s great that her name lives on through such a worthwhile project.

Finally, another week, another march! Reclaim the Night will take place in Manchester on Thursday 23 February. We will be speaking to one of the organisers, Jenni Smyth, Women’s Officer at Manchester Students’ Union. Jenni was also on the show a few weeks ago, talking about the fantastic production of The Vagina Monologues at The University of Manchester, and we are thrilled to welcome her back this week.

You can read more about Reclaim the Night here, as well as on our campaign page here.
