Over the last 15 years, Nickala Torkington has developed a very large network, through which she has supported over 300 women who are themselves changemakers, to start up or scale up their own enterprises.

Her enterprise, Flourish, is a peer network, through which she is able to support a number of women.

A social enterprise, Flourish was set up to enable women to grow the amazing work they’ve been doing to support women social entrepreneurs:

“After almost 3 years of running this as a voluntary project, the WSSE Co-Founders are taking the plunge and setting this up as a proper grown up social enterprise!

Over 3 years we have seen the network grow to benefit over 200 women, we’ve raised £6,500k through our annual crowd fund campaigns (75% of investees have been women), then invested over £4000 in 22 women and brokered 32 mentoring relationships. We’ve done research on behalf Oxford University showcasing women innovators across the UK and we’ve hosted 20 peer learning events. We’ve also laughed, cried and we’ve eaten a fair bit of cake”

Flourish CIC recently held their launch event, where they unveiled their engaging new brand identity and showcased the work of the incredible women they’ve worked with so far. They shared stories of the impact of their network model and discussed plans for the future, to grow and develop the great work they’ve been doing and to scale the model that’s been working so brilliantly.
